" Aaaahhh ! A ghost !"

  As expected, Melissi's having a panick attack. The more and more time passes, the more I struggle to believe Melissi is an exorcist.

  " She seems cooler than the old dy with heels from st time."

  " Figured you'd say that, Audrey."

  " Heels ? Those ghosts seem kinda fancy."

  " Wouldn't know, Marth, I've only met two including this one so far."

  Our "client" pointed at the apparition, screaming her lungs out.

  " It's her ! Get rid of her please ! That ghost keeps making weird sounds at night and prevents me to sleep ! Saying things like " You should die ! Just give me your soul ! " "

  Why doesn't she just like leave ? I mean, it seems like this ghost ain't really trying to attack her so far so what's the big idea about not running ?

  Li turned her head to Melissi, staring intently at her.

  " So, Meli, what are you supposed to do to deal with a ghost ?"

  " T-the white c-colomb incantations line. B-by b-borrowing the power of the holy spirit, we deliver s-souls."

  " Are those reted to the weird magic circles you drew the st time ?"

  " N-no, it's something e-else. T-this one can only be used on entities entirely made of karma. It purifies evil karma and turns it positive. "

  " Wait a second ... Wouldn't that mean you can just one tap this spirit ?"

  " Y-yeah but I'm not physically gifted, I'll end up hurt b-before hurting it."

  Suddenly, we felt as if lights had flickered in front of our faces, a really short pse of darkness followed by the bright light of the sun blinding us.

  " Huh ? Did the sun just flicker ?"

  " That ain't no normal ghost."

  Before we could even understand it, the ghost was right in our faces. She had multiplied.

  " I-i'll get to it..."

  Melissi joined her fingers together and started reciting.

  "How envoy of the great beyond, purify this heart and body such as evil itself can be erased. Just like the white colomb, stripped of it's freedom and wings."

  What an eerie incantation, why does it even use a white colomb being stripped of it's wings as imagery for it ?

  The duplicatas the ghost made immediately disappeared, the trail of energy they left behind converging into the ghost again.

  Noticing how dangerous Melissi was for her existence, the ghost immediately twisted it's whole body to reach her faster. The whole thing twisting, turning and expanding to reach Melissi.

  " Not so fast !"

  I said. Unfortunately, I couldn't even grab it with my hands.

  " Huh ? What ?"

  Marth jumped in, bringing his axe down on the ectopsm, to no avail.

  " What the ?"

  " You guys are so dumb, ghosts don't have physical bodies that can be harmed. They're also kind of special in the sense they're not sensible to physical karma based attacks."

  Couldn't Li have told us that before we ended up looking like two idiots.

  The ghost was getting closer and closer to Melissi, who paid it no mind.

  Seems like she gets really in the zone when she recites those incantations stuff.

  " Meow."

  "What is he saying?"

  " Oh, he said the girly over here is attracting the ghost to herself."

  " How so ?"

  " Meow."

  " Yeah, I found it odd too. I mean, in the first pce, paranormal creatures rarely can get seen and harmed by regur humans."

  "Ah, right, since she has been acting like everything here is normal , I kinda forgot Melissi was completely human, contrary to the rest of us. "

  " Exorcists are trained to manifest and draw upon karma, it makes sense for her but it's irregur for run of the mill people. "

  " I'm not sure I follow."

  " Me neither, gremlin."

  Li punched Marth in the stomach.

  " Who you calling Gremlin ?!"

  " Woah, your spells are something but you're really weak. I barely felt a thing."

  " It's cause you're half ogre,I bet my menacing fists aren't able to harm such a sturdy body."

  I doubt that's the reason.

  " Ahem ...As I was saying, paranormal creatures exists on a different pne of existence than us humans, they shouldn't even really be able to be seen by run of the mill humans . Yet,for some reason, that girl can see that ghost. "

  " Wait ?! You mean to tell me all these videos I saw on Vidtube are fake ?! "

  Why are they looking at me like they're talking to a madgirl ?

  " Girl, you really thought that shit was real ?"

  I can't believe that guy Marth is making fun of me but more importantly...

  " I already told you ! Not a girl !"

  " At this point, you should just embrace it. Clueless girls have kind of charm, you know."

  " Anyway, what's up with that girl ?"

  " Isn't it obvious ? Right now, before our very eyes, she's developing a one of a kind talent . Maybe we shouldn't exorcise that ghost. "

  " The talent to attract spirits ?"

  " Possibly."

  " What an horrible talent ."

  " I agree with Marth."

  " W-what do you mean ? I-I've been listening to you guys conversation and I don't see how me attracting ghosts is a talent in any ways ."

  For some reason, Li smiled.

  Melissi opened her eyes again, ready to release whatever it was she had been preparing with that weird incantation.

  " I'm ready, guys !"

  What the hell ? Who is that girl ? What is that smile on her face like she's enjoying having to bst a ghost ? Scary . She kinda looks like a psychopath with that crazed smile.

  " M-Melissi, are you ok ?"

  " Never been better ! Can I exterminate that thing already, all my cells are telling me it's my god given duty. "

  " The Cutie's gone crazy."

  " Cutie ? "

  " Yeah, what's the issue with that, Greenie ?"

  This Marth guy has a really bad naming sense but it's especially weird for Melissi.

  " So, it wasn't my imagination when you kept staring at her when we were travelling to go there..."

  " Huh ? What do you mean ?"

  " Melissi, huh ? Well, good luck."

  " Wait, what do you mean ? "

  " Don't worry about it,bro. I'll support you."

  I gave him a thumb in approval of his developping love. Although, the guy seems clueless right now but we have more important stuff to worry about at the moment.

  " Audrey, my mom told me about your training. Can you hold this thing while I give some pointers to this girl ?"

  " I thought you'd never ask !"

  " What ?! We're not bsting that ghost , Miss Li ?!"

  " I have a better idea Melissi, I'm afraid incantations will wait for ter."

  " Oh..."

  She sounds extremely disappointed but her weird smile disappeared.

  " I- I g-guess t-that's fine..."

  Now that's more the Melissi I'm used to.

  " So as I was saying, try to focus. Does that ghost seems familiar in any way ? I know it's a manifestation of the White Lady but she's different than the one I remember."

  " Y-You encountered s-such a scary g-ghost before, Miss Li ?!"

  " Yes but she was weaker than that one. The White Lady exists in multiple iterations in the first pce. She's not supposed to be strong enough to affect literal sunlight like it was a lightbulb. Which is why I suspect this girl has awakened. I suspect this girl is unconsciously using dark karma to fuel that ghost so it feeds on her dark thoughts."

  While Li kept yapping, I unleashed my full potential. So far, I can only do it for 1 minute a day but I think it will do. Focus, remember the perfect appearance you had.

  The half halo and the singur bck wing appeared again on my body.

  " An angel ?! "

  The apparition, sensing how dangerous I had become , changed it's trajectory to me.

  " Maybe If I use my imagination a little bit, I can do better than just raw physical strength ?"

  I lifted two fingers and pointed them at the ghost.

  "HOLY LIGHT ."

  I didn't think it would work but it did. It worked even better than I thought, as a pilr of light descended upon the ghost. It was like I was painting on the world itself.

  " Freaky."

  " W-Woah, Miss Audrey, you're really strong."

  I looked below, where I could see Li with a hand on the girl's back.

  " What is it that trouble you ? It's not normal to emit so much negative karma . This ghost has definitely an origin. Did you know anyone that always wore white and had sort of a vandetta against you ?"

  " Well..."

  The girl started crying.

  " My best friend used to get bullied in middle school...She always liked to wear white robes. I didn't make the connection before but looking closer, she does look like her. "

  " Can you tell me more ?"

  " Thing is... when she was getting bullied by those mean girls, I never even tried to help her...I was too afraid..."

  She kept crying,letting her heart out.

  " I was such an idiot ! I never noticed how hurt she was ! One day those girls took it too far and pushed her to do the worst thing possible ! If only I had helped her ! If I did she would still ..."

  " I understand..."

  " That day, when she decided to do it, it should have been me, not her. It's better if a coward like me disappear than if people as gentle as her do..."

  We all had no words, not knowing what to exactly say in this situation.

  So...This ghost is most likely her friend haunting her. Well, to be more precise, that girl is choosing to haunt herself with guilt. That is why this ghost is trying to kill her. It is a representation of her thoughts and feelings.

  Suddenly, the sound of a face getting smacked could be heard.

  " Never say this again ! Every life is valuable and worth living ! Who are you to decide if it's time for you or not ! Let Nature run it's course ! Do you think your friend would want you to give up so easily ?! You're dishonouring her memory !"

  " M-Miss Li, maybe we s-shouldn't..."

  Marth stopped Melissi from coming any closer to Li.

  " I agree with the gremlin, Cutie."

  Although I dislike thinking like Li, I think this is one of the rares occasions where I agree with her.

  " I hate people that always value others above themselves ! Don't you dare take the easy way out this time ! You have the occasion to apologise right in front of you and all you're thinking about is that ?! Even if you don't value your life ,know I always will ! I value any life equally, none of them are worth giving up ! "

  The ghost came out of my pilr of light , in direction of Li and the girl.

  " Miss Li !"

  " Gremlin !"

  " Li ! "

  " Don't worry about it,guys, let them talk. There's a reason I asked Audrey to deal with it. Holy lights have purifying traits whereas exorcism outright destroy evil karma."

  " Aria, is that you ?"

  I couldn't believe my eyes, the ghost appearance had changed from a menacing dy with dark hair from a girl our age with freckles.

  " Yes, Alma, it's me... It's been so long..."

  " Yeah... I'm sorry for leaving like this... It must have been hard on you... I wasn't thinking straight..."

  " No... It's fine, anyone would get overwhelmed after what these girls did to you. To post your nudes photos on such a website was out of line of them. I probably should have intervened but I was weak... I hope you can find it in you to forgive me..."

  She kept sobbing as she continued talking.

  " Don't worry, Jessica has always been an asshole, I honestly can't tell what that girl deal or what she's trying to prove but if there is one thing I know... it's that you shouldn't bme yourself. I was in a dark pce. Now that I'm dead and get a chance to look at how sad I made you, I think I may have made a mistake."

  The ghost wiped the tears of the girl.

  " Live, Aria, If you can't do it for yourself, do it at least for me."

  " The dark karma from that ghost has been completely purified !"

  " I will !"

  Marth shout.

  " Wait a s-second... W-why isn't she d-disapearing if she has been purified ?"

  " I told you guys, this girl is gifted. There are sometimes humans like this who develop a karma talent trough exposure to it. She can manipute ghosts."

  " Talk about awkward, they just shared a deep moment that screamed " I'm able to go to heaven now" and it ends up like this ?"

  " Don't you think it's better in a way ?"

  " Yeah, I guess so, now they can be together forever and it's not like other people will be able to see her."

  " That is awkward, Aria, what should we do ?"

  " Isn't it obvious, from now on, we support each other forever."

  " Wait a second ! Why is Greenie trying to nd so violently ? Run! "

  " Phew, she didn't get us but she stills looks pissed. Oh, her halo and wing disappeared."

  " G-good work,Miss Audrey."

  " What's wrong, Audrey ?"

  " Aria, was it ? Just to confirm something, what does that Jessica she mentioned the story story looks like ? "

  " Your face's scary, Greenie."

  " Well, she was a blonde girl with a ponytail, she always liked to make fun of others and always hanged out with her own clique. You may not know it but she's the superstar of our school right now."

  " I Knew it ! That asshole she mentioned is Jessica from my css. "

  " The girl that thought I was a kid ?! "

  " To be fair, most people would, Gremlin."

  " For the st time, I'm 14 !"

  " I Swear she'll hear a piece of me ! See you guys tomorrow ..."

  Just like that, I left in rage. I didn't know what came over me but at this exact moment, I wanted to exact divine punishment upon that girl.

  On the way back to the train station we used to get here, I couldn't help but wonder if Audrey sudden outburst had to with her condition.

  He wasn't acting like himself at all. Usually, she would get along with us and not worry too much about a thing but this time he looked pissed. It was the first time I saw her like this.

  I really hope this is just a bad feeling I have and not a bad premonition.

  Who know what would happen if he completely foregoes his moral compass and tries to kill that girl. After all, angels have a tendency to pass divine judgment. Still, he should never forget he still is a mortal and shouldn't have any power over someone's life.

  I probably should follow her tomorrow ...

  I don't want to lose the first ever friend I made. Of course, now I have more friends, like Melissi and that other annoying guy but I feel closer to Audrey.

  I don't know what I would do if when tomorrow would come, I wouldn't be able to recognise her.

  Looking past that, I feel like he's getting more and more comfortable with people seeing him as a girl. Truth be told, I may know of a cure but if he went through with it, he might have to completely give up his humanity.

  I don't want him to become like those angels and humans that took my dad away from me. I guess Mom took the same so didn't tell her about it either.

  I guess even her hasn't recovered from what happened to Dad ...

  Audrey, if the time ever comes for you to chose, which side will you stand on, human or angel ? Such a choice is your curse and why I can't reveal to you I can do something for you.

  Just that face you had when you left us and went your way is proof enough I shouldn't tell you.

  Because I want my friend to stay the same . Am I wrong for this ?
