Alicia woke up in her bed, screaming, as she heard the wailing of an old train whistle. He stood across the room from her, watching."Aaahhohgod-what?" Alicia cried out, "Wh- where am I?He gestured to her bed, and she scowled, "I know that, idiot. I was just at Kiera's house."He looked out the window and didn't say anything."You're no help, dick."He mimed ughter, then went back to ignoring her. She looked down at her clothes."Wh- these are my pajamas. Who dressed me? What time is it?"The morning sun shone through the window, and Alicia checked her phone. 7 AM. Wednesday the 10th."What happened to Tuesday? Ugh, I hope Kiera's awake."Alicia scrolled through her phone to call Kiera, and paused. She only had fifteen numbers in her phone, and eleven of those people were dead. Now... there were fourteen."Eliza's number is gone. Why is Eliza's number gone? What the fuck? What the hell happened?"She turned to him."Was this you?"He looked over, shook his head, and turned back to the window."Liar. Of course it was you, it had to be you."She pressed Kiera's number, drumming the wood of the doorframe intensely and nervously. No answer. She tried again. No answer. She tried a third time-"Oh my god, Alicia! I would've called you back in a second, you don't need to keep-""What the fuck happened, Kiera!""What?""Eliza!""Who?""El- what do you mean who? Eliza!""I don't know anyone named Eliza. By the way, what happened to you st night?"Alicia threw her phone against the wall, hearing the ghost of an 'Are you oka-' just before it smashed. She gred at him."I hope you're happy," She said with a sinister tone. He mimed a sigh and left the room. She followed him over to the stairs, and grabbed his wrist."Hey!" She said, "No, you don't get to do that, you don't get to walk away, I don't know what the hell you did, but you killed my friend, you piece of shit, and-"With that, he shook her off violently, and she tripped and fell down the stairs.
Today would be the day. He was sure of it this time.J looked across the cssroom at Faith, smiling widely. Oh, she was beautiful. He knew three things about her. First, she had an Irish- or maybe Scottish... Welsh? She had an accent. Second, she was really pretty. Third, she worked in a bookshop. That was more than enough for him. The dream girl. The one that God had said would marry him someday... but there was something off today.Faith's elegance was the talk of the cssroom, of course, how could it not be, but J watched her in css every day and today she seemed nervous. It was unbecoming of her. He wanted to do something to make it stop, but he wasn't sure what he could do. He thought maybe if he told her to cheer up, it would fix things? But that would mean talking to her and he didn't have the courage to do that right now.Their homeroom teacher walked in and greeted everyone, then started calling the roll. Faith looked distracted the entire time, and then put her hand up at the end."Um," She called out, "What about Eliza?"The teacher gave her an odd look, "Who?""Eliza Shelley?""Who's that? What's up, Faith?"Faith paused, "I... I'm not sure. Ignore me, I'm having... I'm having a bit of a day."The teacher gave her a funny look, then proceeded with the rest of the morning schedule. As everyone started to head out, J looked up to see his worst imaginable nightmare; Faith was walking his way."J, I need to talk to you," She said, each word on her tongue filling J with sweet bliss, "It's urgent."J nodded, carefully thinking about how to approach this, "Of course, of course. What is it... that you need, princess?"Was that working? That had to work, right? Girls wanted to be called princess!"Ew, what? Don't call me that, you creep. Look, I need to talk to Heidi, I'm having a weird day and three of my friends aren't picking up their phones."J tilted his head, "Who?""Heidi. Your sister, Heidi, J. What do you mean, who?""I... don't have a sister, Faith."Faith stepped back for a second, her eyes wide."Are you doing okay?"Faith shook her head, "You have a sister. Her name is Heidi. Eliza Shelley is in our css, she has been since the beginning of the year. What... what the fuck is going on?"She pulled out her phone and walked out of the building with it, calling someone. J followed quickly behind."I'm pretty sure I've never had a sister, but maybe I'm wrong? God works in mysterious ways, you know.""Quiet, J, I'm calling Kiera."The phone rang for a few nervous seconds before Kiera finally picked up."Hi Faith," Kiera's voice on the other end said, "Any luck with Alicia?"Faith shook her head, though there was no reason to, "Nope. And get this; nobody remembers who Heidi or Eliza are! I'm here with J right now, he says he doesn't have a sister."J nodded, once again unsure as to why, "Yeah, I've never had one..."Kiera paused, "Eliza? That's what Alicia said... Okay, you know what, this is just too weird, where are you?""I'm at school.""Same. You want to meet at Alicia's house? Check up on her? I'm gonna head over there now.""Alright... See you there."J butted his head into Faith's eyeline, "Uh... I don't know what this is about, but uh, if I really have forgotten having a sister, maybe I should come with? I might be able to answer some questions."Faith's facial features tensed as she stared at J for a few moments, hanging up the phone without breaking eye contact."I... crap. You have a point. Fine."
An orb of bright blue light shot out from the body, and zoomed off into the distance. He sat on the steps for a moment, looking at it."I guess it's over then," He muttered. He stepped over it, and walked over to the kitchen. Soon enough, he would stop existing. That was all he wanted. That was all he'd ever wanted, really. He never wanted this. The pain they'd been through together was hell.A room away, the body picked itself up and walked upstairs to fetch some cleaning supplies, its broken neck swinging with each step.
