Prologue 1 – 2025 Rewrite

Writer's Note - 2025 Rewrites will be the version that the story will be based off.

  ... ... ...

  ... ... ...

  ... ... ...

... Eh...? Am—... am I alive? I—didn't I get into a car crash with my family?

Where—is... this? I blinked, looking at the dim ceiling... we must have been brought into a hospital from our accident.

"Er—..." Oww—? Trying to get up hurts—the crash must have been serious. Though... Where is Mother and Father? I—... I suppose I should wait until an attendant or nurse comes over and ask.

I id back down onto the bedding after foolishly forcing myself up, "Thinking about it—," Eh...? Why is my—, "Who is—..."

... Impossible...? My—my... Surely—, I'm just dazed from my injuries. I heaved a sigh and looked at—... myself... my hands...?

  "Yaaah—?!"

What—this isn't a weird dream, is it? I put what little strength I had to pinch my cheeks; that should wake me up from this—... dream... Eh?

  "I—..." Was shocked—, I mean...

  ... ... ...

"Haah—, Haah..." I took the time to think things through... I sat in silence in the dim room, thinking... I had no idea what happened after the crash that occurred, but all I knew was that I was in a girl's body, with my memories... I mean—is something like that even possible? My mind was racing with thoughts, like... What? I sat in silence, thinking...

After a while, I forced myself up—ah... my legs were unsteady. I sat back down and looked around. I was in an ordinary hospital room, though it was somewhat dim. I looked to the small night desk beside me, "Ah." A small navy blue and white satchel bag was pced next to the desk.

I turned on the small mp on the night desk and took the bag—ah? I didn't expect it to be difficult to hold. My arms also felt unsteady and weak right now, so I gave up trying to pick the bag up and just looked through it. Looking through, I found a student handbook for—, Thersia District Central Commerce High School? That was the school I went to? A slight shock, but I suppose it was the dream school for many. The handbook also had a small safety cover for our student IDs inside, so I opened the handbook and looked to see if she had her ID. "Found it... Teseia Alicia." And her birthday is at Lunar Year 919 Second Half Day 182, so the st day of the year. So I was 14.

"Teseia—..." I uttered my new name... "Alicia." Teseia Alicia - it sounded nice...

"Eh?" I turned to see a medical nurse looking at me from the door. Ah—I didn't even notice the door open. I must look weird looking at my student ID whilst looking so dazed. "Please sit down Teseia—the injuries from your accident still have not healed yet," The nurse said.

  "Huh...? What—," Accident? "What... accident?"

The nurse stared at me before showing a concerned face. "You were involved in a traffic accident. I haven't been told too much about your accident, but when the doctor arrives tomorrow, he will inform you regarding everything."

"Uh—eh, unn..." I gave a bnk response—traffic accident? I took the time to think—,

"Is there anything - pain or discomfort anywhere else?" The nurse asked.

I shook my head, "Nothing; I feel a little sore and tired, and my arms and legs feel a little... weak, but I think I'm fine..." I swung my arms and legs on the side of the bed a little—it still hurt a little honestly but wasn't unbearable as long as I didn't put pressure on them.

The nurse continued to ask me some more basic questions, but all my answers went to show nothing serious.

"Alright—I know you just woke up, but please rest. The doctor will be with you tomorrow." The nurse said. "If you need anything, there is a bottled water on the desk next to the bed. If you feel hungry—here," He handed me a...? A small sweet boxed pie? "It should be safe to eat for your condition, and... I'm sure you would enjoy something sweet." I wasn't hungry, but it did sound good. "If you wish to get in touch with another nurse for anything, press this button on this phone and someone will come for you." He showed me to the phone on the small desk with the bottle of water and lightly touched the button without pressing it. "Any questions?"

I shook my head again. "Nothing."

The nurse got up from kneeling down, "Then if that is everything, rest well." He left, closing the door behind him.

I suppose that is everything I need to know... I guess there is nothing to do besides rest and wait...

I tucked myself into the hospital bed and closed my eyes. "... goodnight..." I told myself, attempting to sleep.

  ... ... ...

  ... ... ...

  ... ... ...

I woke up early to prepare for my meeting with the doctor. With free time, I searched Alicia's—, my bag and found a phone. Luckily it had a facial recognition system, which allowed me to get into her phone. I quickly changed the passcode to make sure I wouldn't get locked out.

I also took the time to see if there was anything on her that I should take note of. I felt guilty looking through the notes and photos of a girl's phone, but I told myself it was necessary... that was the excuse I told myself. After looking through a bit, I found a notepad with login information. This girl kept all her information about websites in a locked notepad on her phone that I opened using the new phone passcode. Looking through the notes, it held everything; from important passwords to websites themselves. I checked her online profile for her social sites and nothing seemed off; besides her ck of friends that is... I heaved a sigh of relief knowing I wouldn't have to deal with a bad past.

I got bored after looking through two more of Alicia's online profiles, which were basically bnk, so I took the time to comprehend everything that occurred to myself...

While in thought, the door I was waiting for to open opened. Someone in a white-b coat person walked through holding a clipboard, "Good morning Alicia." The man who I assumed was the doctor politely greeted me. "I'm gd you're okay Alicia—honestly... I don't know how I would ever face your father if you died..." Huh?

He spoke to me like he was familiar with me, though... honestly I had no idea what he was going on about... "Who—... are you?"

"You—..." The doctor looked at me and blinked, "Apologizes, I am Doctor Halcation Fuliser, and I will be your attending physician Alicia." Dr. Halcation said.

I gave a nod to his greeting, "It is nice to meet you, Doctor Halcation." I greeted him back politely.

Doctor Halcation pulled the small chair attached to the small desk and sat beside my bed to face me. "I have already gone through my assistant's Tilmen's report; and you seem to be in stable condition." He expined. I gave an empty nod in reply, "He also asked me to give you an expnation first on what happened to your family."

... I... waited for this moment...

"... Everyone with the exception of you died in the crash between the Waltsia Family and your family. You and your sister who was at home, are the only survivors for your immediate family." Huh...?

  ... Waltsia!? This—don't tell me—?

"For a long while, you were on the border of life and death; scans said you died... but suddenly, in the few hours before we were going to contact your remaining family and sister, you made a sudden massive recovery."

"Eh...?" I—... "Please... give me a moment." I requested, as the doctor turned quiet... I thought this through; so... Alicia died... But for some reason, she is alive, for some unknown reason. I somehow became her, and everyone assumes that Alicia survived - though I should keep that hidden. "Apologizes, Doctor, I am good now... thank you for giving me a moment; please go on."

"To continue," Doctor Halcation took a breath. "The Waltsia Family has paid out to your family for compensation, and your parents inheritance will allow you to forget about any expenses." Huh...

"I—..." This seemed suspicious... Did he—is Doctor Halcation perhaps seeking for money through me? "... An... eh, what is your retionship to... me?" I asked; Doctor Halcation seemed suspicious for speaking about our financial wellbeing, though I sincerely hoped it wasn't for greed.

Dr. Halcation looked surprised, before nodding... "Sorry; I am your father's friend, and... Well, you and your sister Cecelia are something akin to a niece to me." He said, scratching the back of his head.

"Ah, understood..." I replied... "Sorry for suspecting you." I suppose I don't know Alicia's previous retionships with others. "I—..." How would I expin myself...? "Err—I... I can't recall anything—sorry Doctor..."

Dr. Halcation's expression changed, "Are—what...?" He let out a dry cough, "How much do you remember?"

"I—not much..." I said, "When I woke up, I couldn't even remember my own name..."

He held his hand to his chin, "I see... No, it is perfectly understandable; I cannot say much for patients with memory loss, but if you need someone you can trust, I am here for you Alicia."

"I—okay..." I uttered, "Thank you Doctor."

Dr. Halcation started writing something down on his clipboard, "I apologize, but you will likely have a busy day today. I want to run more tests and examinations on you. Especially after you expressed memory loss - I wouldn't want any brain injury to go unattended."

  I nodded, "Thank you Doctor."

I spent the day going room to room, doing tests and examinations after examinations. By the end of the day, I was back in the room I started in, utterly exhausted, waiting for what they would say about me tomorrow.
